Lawrence Akintokun
My name is Lawrence Akintokun. I attended and graduated from University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education. I taught Chemistry for 8 years in Omega College Shao in Nigeria before I relocated to United States in 2007. I began my Master's Degree at Western Governors University, Utah in 2009 and graduated with Master of Arts in Science Education with a major in 5-12 Chemistry in 2012,and attended and graduated from Kennesaw State University with class of 2021 in Education Specialist with a major in Secondary Chemistry. I am currently working on my dissertation on Secondary Science major in Chemistry at Kennesaw State University.
I am currently a Chemistry teacher at Forest Park High School in Clayton County Public Schools. I am the Science department lead, gifted lead, and a Mentor .This is my 9th year as a chemistry teacher at FPHS. I was voted Teacher of the Year for 2019/20 and 2020/21 Academic years . I am gifted endorsed, I teach honors and gifted Chemistry, and also Advanced Placement Chemistry. Teaching has been my passion, and feel fulfilled seeing my students becoming young scientist and making waves in the fields of science professions.
I am married with three beautiful kids, a pretty daughter and two handsome boys. My wife is a registered nurse with Fulton County Board of Health. I am a strict Lacto-Vegetarian. Hobbies/Interest: I love photography and float a website and YouTube channels "Midas Law Images- " . I listen to reggae, classical jazz , R and B and Afrobeat. My Favorite movie has been "Coming To America" by Eddie Murphy.

- Lab notebook (Hard bound)
- Graph papers
- Scientific Calculator
- Supplies necessary to complete projects (Scissors, colored pencils, glue sticks, Pencils, sharpener, etc.)
Classroom Policy:
- Lab Contract MUST be duly signed by parent and student before a student can participate in the lab activities.NO Exemptions !
- Students must dress appropriately for lab .Information for the lab days will be communicated to students a day before.
- Inappropriate dress will not be allowed into the lab.
- Horse Play during the lab is outright suspension from the lab.
- Late Work will lose 25 points from the score.
- If a student receives a zero because of an assignment not completed due to disruptive behavior, and or when the student refuses to turn in his/her work ,there will not be any make up for that. The zero remains.
- Absentee students must complete their missing work 24 hours after returning to class, or lose 25 points from their scores.
