9th-Grade Literature and Basic Reading and Writing

Course Syllabus

Welcome to Forest Park High School. It is the fourth high school where I have taught, and it has been most rewarding. It is my hope that you will enjoy your time here at the Park as much as I have. I came to FPHS after having worked at Mt. Zion High School and two high schools in the California Bay Area. I have been teaching high school English since 1997 and have taught all of the subjects: British Lit., American Lit., and World Lit. and now 9th-grade Lit. I chose to teach English because I believe in the power of words to inspire, to engage, and to encourage. Before teaching I served in the United States Air Force. It is my hope that some of you will choose to serve in one of the Armed Forces. Finally, enjoy your time here at FPHS and remember to work hard and prepare yourself to be productive citizens in this great nation we are all blessed to live in. Again, work hard and enjoy!
