Educator of the Year

Mr. William Coil, 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year

Mr. Coil was selected as the TOTY by his colleagues.  He has 10 years teaching experience, all of which have been completed right here at Forest Park High School.  He is a member of the English/Language Arts Department, but he has many talents.  Prior to teaching, Mr. Coil worked for MUST Ministries in Marietta which implements outreach programs to address chronic homelessness and addiction.  He received a BA in Religion and Theology from LaGrange College, a Masters of Divinity from Emory University, and a BA in English Education from Kennesaw State University.

Mr. Coil is married with two kids, a son and a daughter, two goats, two dogs, a guinea pig, and a goldfish that refuses to die!  He says he is humbled by being recognized as the teacher of the year. Coil states, “In all honesty, I am still learning what it means to be a good teacher and, in recent years, I have come to recognize my weaknesses as a teacher. I hope to work on those and keep growing as a professional. I can truly say that I love Forest Park and consider myself lucky to be able to do something I truly love. I am blessed to have the opportunity to forge relationships with our students and, hopefully, be a positive influence in their life. I hope to be here for a long time, and I look forward to teaching my students' children one day. I am also grateful for the support of our administration, faculty, and staff.”

Congratulations 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year, Mr. William Coil!
